A Santa Clara University graduate with a BA in Spanish and a BS in Child Studies, Ms. Michelle is currently working toward her MA in teaching and credential at SJSU.
Having worked previously in the infant room at ScuttleBugs and as a lead teacher in a Two’s classroom, she brings firsthand experience of how children grow across their earliest years. Her approach is best summed up in her own words: “I value the children’s autonomy and voice as individuals. It’s important to listen to understand their perspectives, regardless of age or size — and I place great importance on patience and being a safe and warm presence. I love their appreciation for the simple things, and I love witnessing their learning and growth in real time.“
Outside the classroom, Ms. Michelle is happiest outdoors — hiking, catching live music, or planning her next trip to Lake Tahoe, which she visited five times this year alone (winter and summer, because why choose). At home, she shares her space with Eggs, a tuxedo cat of considerable personality.
