EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

At ScuttleBugs, our kids also have a wide range of Extracurricular - and very popular - activities to choose from.

The tuition fees for extracurricular activities are paid directly to the outside organization and not to ScuttleBugs.

Each session has a start date and an end date but children can join at any time during the session (or term) with fees pro-rated based on the date they start.

Soccer Shots

On Wednesdays, our little ones enjoy Soccer Shots, an engaging children’s soccer program with a focus on character development.

The next session is from September 13th to December 6th, 2023 and all the children aged 3 years or older are welcome to join! It is also possible to join after the session starts (the cost will be prorated), provided there is availability.

Soccer Shots program positively impacts children’s lives on and off the field through their best-in-class coaching, communication and curriculum.

We are long-time firm believers in physical activity starting at a young age. Physical activity – just being active - sport can always come later – as part of a child’s early life obviously has many immediate benefits. Not to mention it’s fun! But as importantly, if the child can enjoy being active, they can, as they grow older, build activity into their lives and reap lifelong benefits.

Music Class (Paused due to COVID)

Every Friday  we have Music Class with Golden Acorn music school with our amazing teacher Victoria. Strictly speaking, it is not an extra – because our music class is included in the monthly tuition fee and all the children can join.

Exposure to music and musical experiences during childhood can actually accelerate brain development most notably in the areas of language acquisition and reading skills. Music has many other benefits for young children ranging from social development to even improved test scores! These are just some of the reasons why we agree music should be an essential part of the curriculum for pre-school children today.

Dance Class (Paused due to COVID)

Every Tuesday we have Tap and Ballet Dancing combo class by CLAP Arts designed to nurture children's self-esteem and encourage exploration of their creativity. And have fun too!

The Class introduces children to the basics of both ballet and tap dancing. Children will learn basic positions and elementary ballet such as plies, tendus and passes. Basic tap steps learned include shuffles, rhythm exercises and springs. The music makes the classes fun and materials such as scarves, teddy bears and hula hoops are also used. The movements learned in the Tap/Ballet combo class fosters grace and balance.

Children of all ages express themselves through music and movement. And, of course, dance incorporates rhythm which in turn leads towards balance and physical awareness. “It’s a 10 from Len!”

Tuff Tumblers (Paused due to COVID)

Tuff Tumblersis a non-competitive gymnastics and sports program fostering teamwork and improving motor skills, balance, coordination and self-confidence. Children are introduced to gymnastics and sports skills such as cartwheels, handstands, somersaults, soccer, basketball, baseball, football, golf, relay races and obstacle courses.  Each session lasts 8 weeks, but kids can join at any time. Each lesson focuses on a specific skill and includes warm-ups, tumbling, games and exercises. At ScuttleBugs each  Wednesday (Tumbling) and Friday (Soccer).

We believe a healthy attitude and love for sports starts from experiencing that enjoyment, freedom and just feel-good of running around and being active. It’s part of the reason we have our large, safe and enclosed outdoor playground: To help launch our kids on a healthy, long, lifetime of activity.
