Ms. Itzel started caring for her neighbors’ babies when she was in elementary school and it was then that she realized that she wanted to care for and teach children. Ms. Itzel has since then earned her Bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development from SJSU in 2020 and made her dream to be a professional early childhood educator come true.

What I teach them and how I care for them can influence the course of their lives in many ways, making my work rewarding and life-changing for me and the children”. – says Ms. Itzel.

“As a teacher, I want to help and motivate children at an early age to be curious about the topics they are interested in learning. Having worked with children of different ages, I have always enjoyed seeing them happy and excited to learn. Each child is unique, and I am amazed at how I can learn from them and witness how each one of them develops their personality.”

Ms. Itzel believes that building a relationship with families and co-workers is just as important as building a relationship with a child. Her idea of fun is going to amusement parks, and she makes sure to ride every ride! She also has an unusual hobby:
