I only spoke on the phone with them so far, but I got a very good impression of the center from Sam. I’m a prospective customer and there was notable consideration and care put into the simple phone call I had with them. I was surprised to see negative reviews. Perhaps, the transfer of ownership was simply hard on some people/parents. I will consider this daycare center for my daughter and look forward to a tour. Our family endured several transitions within the past year and the Scuttlebugs team was perceptive to our needs and did a wonderful job caring for our son during big life changes. The toddler 1 and toddler 2 teachers are very attentive and loving. The facility is clean and equipped with upgraded air filtration. The chef prepared a variety of meals that our toddler seemed to enjoy. Overall our family loved Scuttlebugs and would recommend to those seeking a solid daycare. Our child has been at Scuttlebugs since she was 4 months old. This daycare has provided consistent and reliable childcare for them since day 1. We are so grateful for them and all the staff who work here. When we first attended the school, it was run by a different owner. Many of the negative reviews are about the transition regarding the transfer of the business to the new owner. I find this unfair and I think they should be disregarded. Many people are reluctant to change – and often like to find fault instead of noticing what might be positive about a change of guard. In my opinion, the change has been for the better. All the kinks have been ironed out from the transition and the center is all the better for it. Here are some of the things I personally like regarding this daycare and it’s new ownership: – the staff are more consistent and reliable – the center provides all food, and my child has become a less picky eater because of it – they provide diapers, and all nap supplies which is amazing – check in and check out is secure and uses up to date technology – i have an app on my phone where i can check in the types of activities our child is participating in throughout the day. I have so much respect for this daycare, and I appreciate so much all the staff and it’s new owners and managers for making this all possible. Danai …

I can testify for both the preschool classroom and infant room. My son was in the preschool room with a great and professional teacher, and he came home with something new that he learned every single day. The kids play outside every day, weather provided. It feels to me that this school puts stronger emphasis on content and a pedagogical program, rather than just passing the day somehow. Also, having a full-time chef (Laura), I never worried about my son’s nutrition, and it was a relief not having to take care of packing his lunch every day! My baby daughter has been in the infant room since she was 3 months old and she is thriving. The staff there is taking amazing, loving, and warm care of her. They are very cooperative and communicate with us, which is very important with such small babies, where there are very frequent changes in their nutrition, sleep and development. In this room everything is provided- diapers, wipes, formula, bottles and sleep sacks. So when comparing tuition rates, this should be considered. There was indeed a transition period between ownerships, where we experienced high turnover, but things seem to have stabilized, and we are very happy with the current staff. Our daughter attended school here from the time she was an infant (when it was Tiny Minders) to a toddler (Scuttlebugs). The teachers at the school were absolutely amazing! They truly cared about all the kiddos and our daughter loved seeing them every day. The new owners have brought many positive changes including an app (love seeing pictures of her throughout the day!), improved curriculum, and a full time chef! Our daughter loved the food that was made by Chef Laura and we felt it was always nutritious – plus it was nice not to have to worry about making lunch every day. Check-in/check-out procedures were designed with child safety in mind and that kept me at ease. We also really appreciated the clear communication from the school’s leadership. Our daughter is doing great in ScuttleBugs’ preschool program. We’ve been with the center since it was called TinyMinders, and while the transition to new ownership was a bit rocky for a while, the new team seems to have found their footing and emerged as good as ever. The school recruited an amazing preschool teacher who brings solid, professional teaching and a great energy to the room. The addition of the onsite chef has been fantastic both because we no longer have to pack lunches, and the meals are full of quality and variety. Overall, a solid choice for a Boulder daycare that caters to the typical working parent. James M. was last modified: January 25th, 2024 by Yulia Onosovskaya

We have absolutely loved our time at Scuttlebugs. My daughter started at 6 months old in the infant room, and continued on through GC3 in the 2s room. She loved her teachers and her friends there, and always came home happy. Every day when we arrived, she took off for her classroom with barely a glance back at me 🙂 I always knew she would be safe and taken care of. We have only left because we moved, otherwise she would have attended up until it was time to go to her local public school, and my infant would have been starting in 3 weeks. They have also been great during the pandemic. They continued to serve families, and have a great cleaning procedure in place, as well as a very protective drop off/pick-up process. The other families are also very respectful of these policies and procedures. We did not worry about sending her during this time. Highly recommend using them, they will be greatly missed! We love ScuttleBugs!! And more importantly, my daughter loves Scuttlebugs. My daughter has been going to SB for almost a year and half. They’ve been tremendous, especially during the pandemic. Every teacher we’ve encountered has been fantastic–caring, kind and thoughtful. My girl started at SB as an almost 1.5 year old who was not the best at walking (no developmental issues; just a chill toddler with no interest in moving yet). While she was registered for the young toddler class, we listened to their guidance and moved her to the infant class for a few months to allow her time to adjust and perfect walking/running. She was soon in the toddler class then moved to the 2-year old class on her birthday. Also worth noting: my daughter eats a vegan/plant-based diet and this has been a non-issue with SB, as Miss Joana does a great job making vegan meals every day and Miss Nicole ensures vegan snacks/ingredients are always in stock. Teachers are also great at ensuring children receive meals that align with each individual child’s allergy and food restrictions. I’ve really been surprised with how quickly my daughter’s vocabulary and knowledge has expanded over the last year and half. She is so happy at “school” and we are so grateful for everyone at SB.
