We enrolled our first son when they first opened (when he turned 2). He’s almost 5 and heading to Kindergarten in a couple of weeks. My second has been there for a year. He’s now 3. My husband is a very difficult person and has very high standards. He looked into so many daycare centers in the San Jose/Campbell/Santa Clara area and finally settled on Scuttle Bugs. We love this place!! Everyone is great and very friendly. We’ve NEVER had any issues with anyone there. Our boys were moved into the appropriate classes when they were ready. They were NEVER held back or pushed ahead for any reason. Yes, they’ve had staff changes, but that is very common in the child care industry. But they always have at least 2 care takers per class, so when one leaves, there’s always another staff member that the kids are familiar with. We are ALWAYS informed BEFORE a staff member leaves and ALWAYS introduced to the new staff member either in person and/or a letter in the child’s folder. One of our boys had a horrible eating problem that i would have to deliver food to him every day. The teachers took their time to help him and he’s now trying new things. The staff members were also very helpful during potty training. No one or no place is perfect, but this place is one of the BEST. Fairuz B. was last modified: February 4th, 2019 by geoff

“Our son has been attending ScuttleBugs for over a year now. We have had the best experience and feel so fortunate he is enrolled here. He started in the twos class and is now in junior preschool. The teachers genuinely care about the students. His current teacher, Ms. Valena has been so good with our son and he loves her so much. The director Stephanie and founder Sam have always been very friendly and responsive to our concerns. They are also very accommodating to food allergies and the cook Joanna has been great to work with to make sure our son follows a gluten free diet. The food offered is so healthy and nutritious with ethnic meals and lots of fruit and vegetables. 100 times better than other facilities we toured, where goldfish crackers and juice were the main snack foods. There are also lots of planned activities through the year, carnivals, book fairs, pot luck dinners, parents night out, and informative sessions for parents. The curriculum is play based and Reggio inspired and they practice positive discipline. The kids get plenty of time to play outside each day, lots of sensory and art play, reading and circle time. I also feel that my son is very safe, a key-card is needed to enter the lobby and the classrooms. The play yard has opaque high walls so the kids are not visible from the outside. The facility is just a couple of years old, inside it is very bright and clean and the toys and …

ScuttleBugs has been a fantastic infant care center and preschool for our daughter, who started there when she was 5 months. The infant teachers were so caring and loving to all the babies and were great with detailing the days events (feedings, diaper changes, naps, milestones). Once she joined the toddler and then preschool room, she just soared with the new activities and practices. They have a great shaded outdoor play area and indoor gym. Joanna, the chef for the center, cooks nutritious meals and snacks that the kids love. ScuttleBugs is very family focused and was a second home for our daughter. We recently moved up north and are sad to leave the ScuttleBugs family, but our new school has already mentioned how advanced our daughter is and well mannered. Thanks ScuttleBugs! “We love this place. Moved my 2 year old at that time (Jan 2013) from the Kidz Academy, which was falling apart to this almost new, designed with kids in mind, place. I do occasionally provide feedback on how to improve or better care for my child, which the teachers and the director always takes into consideration. I like their backyard play area, I like their menu, I appreciate the fact they take care of the sunblock for all the kids and everything else for that matter, I obviously like the teachers. I could write on and on, wish they would provide school when my daughter gets older. Since my kid has been there all the teachers I’ve been in contact with are still there + some new ones since they are growing (Ms. Jennifer, Ms. Tori, Ms. Adria, Ms. Michelle, Ms. Valena). Highly recommend it.” Kasia P. was last modified: January 19th, 2017 by geoff

“I brag all the time how happy I am that I found this place and how great they are to my baby. My son is has been at this center for about a year. Staff: It’s the hardest thing to leave your child crying for you. On the first day my son connected right away with “La la”. I was so relieved I could walk out the door that morning seeing him happy & comfortable with her. Its obvious how much the teachers care for my son’s well being. They are excited to see him in the morning. I like that sometimes I will get an email with photos of what he is up to that day. Weekly I will be informed what my son will be learning that week. They describe the books they will be reading, activities, ie: puppet show about “hands are not for hitting”. This way I can stay involved with his day to day and talk to him about the different topics he learned on our drive home. Clean: my son was getting sick monthly at his previous daycare’s. I think he has only been sick from a fever caught at school twice in the 1 year he has attended. Scuttle-bugs sanitizes the toys frequently. Meals are supplied: They have a chef and prepare a variety of different meals. Security: the center has cameras, you are assigned a badge to get through the doors and check your kid in and out with your fingerprint. Very safe. I highly recommend ScuttleBugs.” …

“This is one of the most amazing places I came across recently. The staff is very understanding and accommodating. I enrolled my daughter here just about a week ago and so far I have been speechless with the amount of care and assistance Sam and Ashley have been given to me and my daughter considering our family circumstances. The teachers (Lily and Jessica) are sweet and carrying as well. I truly feel blessed with this place! They offer secure and clean facility with yummy meal plan and wonderful playground area. My daughter already seems very happy. Thank you all for this opportunity! This is the place to be if you are in need of new preschool or daycare place. :)” Bella C. was last modified: September 21st, 2018 by geoff

“The infant room was absolutely amazing! The teachers are like family and have really contributed very positively to my son’s development. And we’re finding the Toddler room great too (just transitioned last month).” Karina M. was last modified: June 2nd, 2018 by geoff

“We are so very pleased with the school, and cannot thank you enough for all of the support you have provided our family and kiddos. All of the little things you do like sending us pictures of the kids, and filling us in on the little daily details surely never go unnoticed! It is a difficult thing to find a child care center for our children, and I can truly say that I have complete faith and trust in the center. I cannot tell you how great of a feeling that is as a parent.” Destiny F. was last modified: April 16th, 2018 by geoff
