It’s one of the best daycares in the area, teachers are amazing we love them, staff are friendly and hardworking, they made my son feel like home.great scale where it is not too big and has a coziness feeling for the kids ,its also not so small so that kids can get enough interaction and socialize. would certainly recommend it. “My son has been attending Scuttlebugs for roughly 4 months now. We had looked at a few different daycares prior to finding Scuttlebugs, none gave me the good feeling I got when we first came to tour this daycare. First off, every morning we are greeted with smiles and my son is welcomed into class. The staff is professional and extremely welcoming and they make you feel like you’re part of a family. My son looks forward to going to daycare in the morning and they have made dropping my child off not so terrifying for a new parent. The facility is by far one of the cleanest daycares we had seen, the kids are always happy and well taken care of. The staff are extremely loving towards all of the kids. The security is awesome. Everyone is provided with their own card to get into the lobby and you must use it to enter into the area where the classrooms are. They will not hand your child off to anyone who can not show ID at the door and they use a fingerprint system that requires to to check your child in and out. Everything is included with your tuition. Diapers, wipes, food (which is prepared there) and formula. Makes it so much easier to get your kid’s stuff together in the morning because you don’t need to pack much for them! The location also is in a nice area, conveniently located not too far from the local freeways. Definitely check this place out …

“ScuttleBugs blows their competition out of the water.  I don’t even know where to start.  I first came to ScuttleBugs a year ago, exasperated and desperate.  During the last few months of my pregnancy with my second child, my 2.5 year old son had a trial run at no less than one in home au pair, two home daycares and two facility day cares.  At each one the experience was the same: the staff had neither the time nor patience to deal with the severe separation anxiety he was suffering, having stayed at home with me up until then.  He went in screaming, refused to eat anything, came out screaming, and often didn’t manage to make it through the day before I was called to pick him up.  My daughter was born, and we still hadn’t found a solution and life was getting very difficult.  When I first came to Scuttles, Stephanie and Sam were very understanding of my struggle and offered to bend their rules a bit and let my son try out the program without obligations.  Meaning, if it didn’t work out, no harm done and a prorated refund would be allowed.  Next, they gave me questionnaires to fill out which I think were integral in setting up his (insanely awesome) teacher Ms V to help him cope.  So I signed up, we rocked in, and here is what I experienced: On day one, midday, my phone rang and I thought surely it was ScuttleBugs asking me to pick him up because of …

“Today my daughter is “graduating”–it’s her last day at ScuttleBugs. She’s five-and-a-half years old and has been scampering about ScuttleBugs since she was an infant. Now she follows her brother, 7, into the next phase of schooling. He went to ScuttleBugs, too. All told, our family has been with ScuttleBugs for four-and-a-half years. At this moment, we’re the longest standing family at the center. That’s got to count for something. If you’re like me and you want to keep score, here are some key numbers on a scale of one to five for your consideration. ADMINISTRATION. The management team at ScuttleBugs is committed to learning and growth, both in their students and as business owners. They do an effective job of communicating organizational updates, changes, and decisions to parents. And while there have been some bumps along the way, the management team has course corrected when necessary and learned from experiments that didn’t go as planned. On this metric, I give them a 4 out of 5. As the administration team grows, as it’s currently doing, I expect them to notch a solid 4.5 in time, as their efforts will more effectively scale. EDUCATORS. One of the things I most value in ScuttleBugs is the teaching staff. They care about the kids and rightfully take pride in the positive impact they’re having, now and into the future. At every phase of our kids’ learning and growth, I was repeatedly impressed by the overall quality and commitment of the teaching staff. They’re the guts of the …

Let me first say that I am extremely picky, control freak planner type A personality. Additionally  my MIL lives with us so with my daughter only being two I do not have to enroll her into a school program (but wanted my daughter to have opportunity to socialize regularly) and have the luxury of having infinite time to tour multiple schools, attend preschool fairs, research etc prior to making a selection. I am so glad to have found ScuttleBugs, as a busy working mom it takes a big relief knowing that I fully trust the center staff to provide a safe, fun learning environment for my daughter. I have never had the experience of the other reviewer, in fact the center staff amazed me by remembering both mine and my daughters name when we came for a second tour weeks after attending an open house. The center staff and teachers have ALWAYS been more than welcoming (even when I did an unannounced center visit in the middle of the school day prior to enrolling my daughter), and encourage parent participation by having an open door policy and organizing a parent committee with parent representatives from each classroom. Jennifer Omar, teacher of the two year old room is an amazing woman, she is the perfect balance of warmth and structure. She is able to set routines for a group of two years olds to have them happily clearing off their meal plates, counting to 20, learning basic phrases in spanish, arabic and sign language and lining …

“Our son has been attending ScuttleBugs for over a year now. We have had the best experience and feel so fortunate he is enrolled here. He started in the twos class and is now in junior preschool. The teachers genuinely care about the students. His current teacher, Ms. Valena has been so good with our son and he loves her so much. The director Stephanie and founder Sam have always been very friendly and responsive to our concerns. They are also very accommodating to food allergies and the cook Joanna has been great to work with to make sure our son follows a gluten free diet. The food offered is so healthy and nutritious with ethnic meals and lots of fruit and vegetables. 100 times better than other facilities we toured, where goldfish crackers and juice were the main snack foods. There are also lots of planned activities through the year, carnivals, book fairs, pot luck dinners, parents night out, and informative sessions for parents. The curriculum is play based and Reggio inspired and they practice positive discipline. The kids get plenty of time to play outside each day, lots of sensory and art play, reading and circle time. I also feel that my son is very safe, a key-card is needed to enter the lobby and the classrooms. The play yard has opaque high walls so the kids are not visible from the outside. The facility is just a couple of years old, inside it is very bright and clean and the toys and …

“I have actively made the decision to keep my child at Scuttlebugs twice, at the cost of driving an extra hour each day. That is how highly I think of the center. And because I have had kids there pretty much the entire time the center has been open, I have a unique perspective. My oldest started at Scuttlebugs just under a year old, just after the center opened. He has since graduated and just finished kindergarten. We still keep in touch with many families from his class at the center. My youngest is about to enter the Pre-K room at Scuttlebugs, along with his best buddies he has known since he was 4 months old. A few years ago we moved around 10 miles away and twice when my job situation has changed, I have looked for an option closer to our house and both times failed to find something that could live up to Scuttlebugs. The diversity of staff at Scuttlebugs is amazing. I worked in childcare myself and the industry is largely staffed by young women. One of the things that has always made me love Scuttlebugs is that they have had men teaching across the age groups. The men who are teachers at Scuttlebugs have been some of my sons very most favorite teachers (and mine). It’s important to me that my children have role models and caretakers of different genders. Don’t get me wrong – we love all the wonderful women, young and old, who have been cuddlers, caregivers, and …
